George Russell reveals how Lewis Hamilton helped him improve

George Russell has revealed how much he has learned working alongside Lewis Hamilton this season at Mercedes.

Russell moved to referee Formula 1 Constructors champions at the start of the campaign and was hoping he could have fought for titles from the start.

However, Mercedes had a challenging year that saw them get raped by Red Bull and Ferrari because they had the fastest cars on the grid and this meant that Russell was not able to fight the championship battle, and he didn’t take his title 7 times. The winning teammate.

A tough year, then, but still positive in many respects for Russell who has shown great consistency this season to finish inside the top five in every race he’s finished, and is also able to learn and work with one of every race. All-time greats at Hamilton, and with a wider team he is seen as one of the best players in Formula One history.

In fact, it wasn’t lost on George, who credited Lewis and his experience working with him as the reason for his improvement as a driver:

“First of all, I feel very fortunate to be a teammate with Lewis because it has given me this opportunity to see his strengths and where I can learn from and he is definitely very strong in certain areas,” said Russell.

“He’s always very strong in low-speed cornering and under braking, he’s always been very strong and it was interesting to see his approach to certain issues and how he deals with them.

“There is no doubt that I may have extended this circumstance to my driving skills by being a teammate.

“There is no actual way to gauge whether or not you are a better driver, there are too many factors that go into that.”

Positive season for George Russell

Russell can be proud of this season even if he didn’t win the race.

He has shown that he is a very fast and consistent driver and he competed well with Hamilton and the other drivers at the end of the field.

Many see George as a potential future world champion, and if Mercedes can provide the equipment, there is no reason why he shouldn’t realize that potential.

Next year, if they get it right, expect George to be even stronger.
