Miami at Texas A&M Football Predicted Week 3 ESPN Gameday

The Miami soccer game at Texas A&M was selected by 247 Sports as the third week on September 17th on ESPN College Game Day. Miami has not been shown on ESPN College Game Day since October 10, 2020 in Clemson. Miami started the 2020 season with three College Game games in the first four weeks.

Miami led 2-1 all-time against Texas A&M. The Hurricanes defeated the Aggies at home and at home in 2007 and 2008 the last time the two teams played. Miami is exiting the 7-5 2021 season which led to the appointment of Mario Cristobal as head coach. Texas A&M was 8-4 last season including a win over Alabama.

Miami will begin the season with home matches against Bethune-Cookman and Southern Mississippi. Texas A&M begins with matches against Sam Houston State and Appalachian State at Kyle Field. Miami defeated Appalachian State 25-23 in 2021. Miami’s quarterback coach Frank Pons was the Mountaineers’ offensive coordinator.

Texas A&M opened the season sixth in the AP Top 25 rankings released Thursday. Miami is ranked 16th by the Associated Press. No. 25 Brigham Young ranked 11th in Oregon is the only other game among the pre-season seeded teams for the third week. Clemson and Pittsburgh are the other two pre-season seeded teams that Miami will play in 2022.

Week 3 (September 17): MIAMI AT TEXAS A&M
Other potential candidates: Oklahoma in Nebraska, Georgia in South Carolina, Pennsylvania in Auburn

Oklahoma in Nebraska is the other top candidate for this week, but it’s hard to see GameDay competing with Big Noon Kickoff in consecutive weeks. For that reason, GameDay is making a quick trip from Austin to College Station for the Texas A&M-Miami game, a game that’s already aired on ESPN at 8 p.m. CT.

What should be a national match could reveal the true identities of both shows for 2022. Jimbo Fisher’s Aggies is looking to make a comeback and prove himself as a playoff contender after losing the match 8-4 in 2021.

For Miami, this is the first game against a Power Five competitor under new coach Mario Cristobal and a golden opportunity for the new regime to make a statement early as Miami looks to return to its status as a college football powerhouse.

This is the fourth meeting overall between schools and the first since 2008 that the Hurricanes outperformed 2-1.

The Miami vs. Florida and at Clemson games have also been mentioned as potential ESPN College Game Day candidates. Miami ends the season against Pittsburgh in what could be the actual ACC Coastal Division Championship game. Miami was chosen by the media to win the ACC Coastal Race.

In a season full of expectations, the Miami soccer team should get a few chances to be considered at ESPN College Gameday. The Hurricanes should improve on the disappointing 2021 season that Miami finished without ranking after the start of the season at number 21. Miami fans are excited to start the Cristobal era.
